Boston -- Change. It is the "Year of Change" for Bostonians and their beloved teams. Red Sox, Celtics and even Boston College football all hired a new head coach. Will John Farrell have what it takes to get the Red Sox another ring? Is Brad Stevens ready for the big time? Can Steve Addazio bring the Eagles out of mediocrity? Each coach will have every opportunity to answer his question.
Farrell and Addazio are both confident that each will bring success to their respective institution. The Red Sox are expected to be in contention for a World Series title. Boston has the bats, but will pitching be able to hold up.
However, Boston College may be satisfied with a bowl appearance. Recruiting will be crucial for Addazio to stay long term in Boston. Both the offensive and defensive lines need help. The Eagles secondary is among the worst in the ACC. The Eagles open the season against ACC rival, Miami.

Oklahoma City, OK - The front office of the Oklahoma City Thunder is very divided. Some are pointing at poor personnel management while others say it is a lack of leadership. Others claim Sam Presti and the owners were on completely separate pages. Allegedly, Presti adamantly wanted to keep the pieces that were in place and try again. However, the owners did not see that as a viable option. The group of owners wanted to see at least one big acquisition or two over the off-season. It is believed by many that is why Sam Presti found himself without a job as of last week.
The Thunder have hired a recent graduate from the University of Arkansas, Von Jenkins. Jenkins is known for playing football with the Hogs helping them win two national titles. While at the U of A, he got a business degree. While Jenkins may have made a few connections in Arkansas, most say he is in over his head. "I think [Jenkins] was brought in to be a puppet of the owners. I really don't understand why my team got rid of the other GM. We just made the NBA Finals the year before, " said Jack Reynolds. Reynolds is a forty-two year old Oklahoma native and avid NBA fan.

The Texans finish the preseason strong with a 3-1 record. As good as Houston was in preseason, regular season wins is what actually counts. Coch Jenkins and the Texans will open the season at home against the Miami Dolphins. Miami has a good defense that is ranked 10th in the league. The problem is their offense. With a rookie quarterback, the Dolphins may struggle in producing points which will lead to some ugly losses. Opening day should not be any different.
It is never too early to talk about the NFL Draft. Top prospect quarterback Stacey Knight from Cincinnati has the attention of many NFL scouts. On his twitter account, Todd McShay wrote, "It's all eyes on Stacey Knight going into Week 1. So dynamic. I say he lives up to the hype." Knight could be compared athletically to Cam Newton.

(Houston, TX) The Houston Texans have shocked the league by firing head coach Gary Kubiak. Many people are scratching their head and wondering why. Why did the Texans fire Kubiak? Hopefully we will get answers soon from owner Bob McNair.
In the meantime, we do know that McNair has hired two-time NCAA national title winner Von Jenkins from the University of New Mexico. "I was extremely excited that an NFL team was interested in my services. I felt I had done everything I could do for my college football career." Jenkins played college football at the University of Arkansas as their top starting cornerback where he helped the Hogs win two titles. Some have speculated that if Jenkins had not suffered a freak injury at the combine, he would have been playing on Sunday.

I will be taking over Michigan in NCAA Basketball 10. I will take the players that will go to the draft and transfer them over to NBA 2K13 as best I can. I will wait a couple seasons as I want some potential real draft classes on 2K13, but after that I will try and get my college guys in the NBA.

Houston, TX - In Coach Hulsizer's debut, Charlotte looked really good. Or was it that Houston played really bad? Jeremy Lin couldn't hit the broadside of a barn. Harden and Patterson were carrying the Rockets throughout most of this game. "We were finally able to close out a game and get a win. This is very satisfying and something this franchise can build on," Kemba Walker shared during a post-game news conference.

Coach Jenkins and the Kansas State Wildcats have stunned the Duke Blue Devils to win the national title. Kansas State finished third in the conference behind Oklahoma and Missouri with a 9-7 conference record and 25-13 overall. "I couldn't be any more proud of these young men and for Kansas State," Coach Jenkins said during post-game news conference. A couple players could look to make the jump to the NBA, Dean Battles and Demetric Merchant. Both are sophomores which could be a major blow to the Wildcats' chances for a successful title defense. The Wildcats did however land the #9 recruiting class.
Coach Jenkins has signed his first 5 star recruit. Oddly enough, it is Mr. Basketball of South Dakota, Xavier Marks. Jenkins signed last year's Mr. Basketball of South Dakota.

AA = All-American

Manhattan, KS - The first season for Coach Jenkins proved to be tough. Finishing with a record of 16-15 probably wasn't what K-State alumni had in mind.
